Just Peachy

So a little while ago, well, quite a while ago, (people with experience with applying for things related to disability will understand the struggle, sigh) I applied for a disabled badge through my local council. Because I didn't qualify for immediate acceptance, I had to fill out quite a lengthy form explaining why I felt I needed one. I'm not going to go into detail as the form requires you to go into quite a lot of detail about different, very personal information, but if you get very tired when it comes to concentrating hard, I would prepare yourself for a long sit down, and have all your medication and relevant information at hand so you don't have to keep getting up. All the things you need to know are on the direct.gov website, and for once it's quite informative!

Now, it did mention that I may be required to attend an assessment with my local council if they feel they need to arrange one, and while I waited for a reply, a lady from my local council sent me some links to fibromyalgia support groups in my area. I couldn't believe how nice that act of kindness was! So cute. Anyway I assumed right off the bat that I would be asked to attend a 'medical' assessment because with a chronic illness like mine, you're constantly having to prove to every sort of authority possible that I'm sick. Thankfully, I have sort of come to terms with this, there's no point getting too upset about this fact. But I couldn't believe my luck when they contacted me last Saturday and told me that my application was successful! Honestly, no one will understand unless they've got a chronic illness, but I nearly cried, no lie.  So of course straight away, I hit up Amazon and got browsing for a disabled badge cover..

I decided to purchase the Blue Badge Company Roald Dahl James and the Giant Peach badge holder because I just thought it was really cute, I was never a massive fan of Roadl Dahl or anything, I just loved the design! I was a little disappointed because I thought it was plastic, or had a shiny coating, but it's fabric. Not a major issue but because it is white I just think it's going to get dirty pretty quick! It was also a bit pricey, however I was happy to pay for this particular one because I really liked it! But beside that I'm very pleased with it and I'm happy I bought it off a company that specialises in this type of thing.

Comes with a badge parking clock already inside.

Here is a link to the company on Amazon, they have a little note about the company in the product description; claiming that 40% of their work force are disabled, which I really liked!
